Raising Katahdin hair sheep
Eden Burke Hall Plantation (EBH) of Callahan, Florida is producing KHSI registered purebred Katahdin hair sheep. We purchased our foundation Katahdin sheep stock from Hound River and Ewe Crazy Farms in Georgia to insure superior performance with good parasite resilience in 2017. We have over 12 acres of forage based pastures of Tifton 9 and Bahia that we overseed seasonally with high quality rye, clover and Daikon radish. We encourage rotational grazing along with our horses for a symbiotic parasite relationship. Extra nutrition is provided with daily portions of a special blend of various feeds and trace mineral supplements. Additionally, we supply free choice top quality hay plus during lactation an ample diet of perennial peanut hay. Shelters are provided in every pasture plus a creep feeder for lambs. For predator protection we have 3 Akbash guardian dogs who patrol our 2 miles of fencing each night. In the barn we have 5 lambing jugs and a handling chute, rotating exam rack, scales, etc. We periodically herd the flock in to check Famacha, udders, hooves and administer any meds etc. as needed. We look forward to serving the area with the best Katahdin pureblood stock.

excellence in showmanship.
Lucky and 5 ewe lambs of EBH Plantation have been procured by University of Florida to be the foundation stock
for a bold attempt by the Ag Department to create an even more superior parasite resistant stock and set up a
