July 2020 — EBH Plantation Sheep Go To University of Florida
The University of Florida purchased from us our yearling ram, Lucky and 5 ewe lambs (6 months
old) on Friday 7-17-20. They will be the foundation stock for the UFL flock in their Katahdin
breeding program.
This program is expected to elevate parasite resistance to a higher level for southern stock
through genetics utilizing Cracker Sheep since they are naturally extremely hardy. UFL already
has a flock of Florida Cracker ewes and plans to create a more perfect strain of offspring at UFL.
